Supporting the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center
Each spring, the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation presents an amazing gala to raise funds for charity. Celebrity Fight Night's primary beneficiary is the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center (MAPC) at Barrow Neurological Institute.
The MAPC is a comprehensive resource center that complements Barrow’s clinical care with educational, recreational, and support programs for patients and their families. The MAPC may be the largest support network in the country for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
“Celebrity Fight Night’s ongoing support makes a tremendous difference for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center,” says Abraham Lieberman, MD, director of the MAPC. “Their support is the backbone of so much of what we do—from education and exercise programs to support groups, the Parkinson Registry, and Ali Care. Without the yearly contribution from Celebrity Fight Night Foundation, we would be unable to offer all that we do.”
A host of entertainers, celebrities, and professional athletes from around the country join Muhammad and Lonnie Ali for the annual gala. The event includes amazing silent and live auctions, a gourmet dinner, and a dazzling show.
Jimmy Walker is the founder of the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation. The 2010 event was held March 20 and raised approximately $5 million for the MAPC at Barrow, as well as several other charities. The next Celebrity Fight Night will be held in March 2011 For more information on the foundation and Celebrity Fight Night, visit www.CelebrityFightNight.org.
