Women's Board showcases Barrow's research
Feb. 23, 2012
Marley Lobby and Goldman Auditorium
Education Day is held in February to showcase the innovative patient care, medical education, and research at Barrow Neurological Institute. Planned and presented by the Barrow Women’s Board, the event includes a continental breakfast, and presentations by Barrow physicians and scientists.
The goal of Education Day is to inform the community about the world-class work being done at Barrow. The program includes time for questions from the audience.
The Barrow Women's Board was established in 1965 to raise funds for research at Barrow Neurological Institute and to foster community interest in supporting the fledgling neuroscience center. The group's first fundraiser was a masqued ball at Casa Blanca Inn on New Year’s Eve, which netted $26,000. Since then, the Barrow Women's Board has raised nearly $39.5 million for Barrow.
