Five thousand walkers turn out to support SSBTR
The 9th annual Phoenix SSBTR Walk-a-thon was held Feb. 27, 2010 at ASU's Memorial Union.
Organizers were excited for the beautiful weather as 5,000 people participated at the new ASU venue, moved this year to support continued growth of the event.
Honored guests included Jason Barry, award winning reporter from Channel 5 news, the Phoenix Suns Gorilla and Suns Dancers, brain tumor survivors, and families and friends who walked in memory of a loved one who passed away from this disease.
This year, the group also held its second walk-a-thon in Tucson and inaugural events in Milwaukee, Wis., Buffalo, N.Y., and Flagstaff, Ariz.
