Barrow Neurological Foundation Welcomes Four New Trustees

PHOENIX (February 28, 2019) – Barrow Neurological Foundation has announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees: Richard “Todd” Davis, Cheryl Najafi, Stacy L. Tucker and David S. Van Denburgh. Members of the board of trustees provide governance over the Barrow Neurological Foundation. The foundation is the catalyst of its donors’ passion for transformation by providing the resources for the world’s leading specialists at Barrow Neurological Institute to save lives.

“I am pleased to welcome four incredibly talented community leaders to our board,” said Katie Cobb, president of the foundation. “Each of these leaders brings a truly unique perspective and skill set that fully complements the exceptional board currently governing Barrow.  I look forward to partnering with our new trustees and will count on them to bring new ideas and innovations to take the foundation to the next level and further the lifesaving care happening at Barrow every day.”

Todd Davis was the chairman and chief executive officer of LifeLock. Davis has committed the previous twelve years to building an organization at the forefront of helping to combat identity theft crimes. His efforts have been recognized with numerous regional and national business, consumer and leadership awards, including: 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Orange County/Desert Cities region for a Top Emerging Company, CRM Magazine’s Service Elite Award, The Arizona Business Leadership Association’s Leadership Award and Arizona Business Journal’s 25 Most Admired CEOs in 2009.

Cheryl Najafi is a New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and entrepreneur.  In 2010 she founded the leading food recipe website, EverydayDishes.com.  In 2017 Najafi founded The Cause Collection, a socially responsible online clothing company that supports nonprofits who fight for tolerance, humanitarianism and social justice.  As a part of the shopping process, every customer is encouraged to use their purchasing power to advocate for the cause of their choosing.   In addition to funds contributed from the customer’s purchasing power, The Cause Collection also makes quarterly contributions straight from its working capital to directly support its nonprofit partners.

Stacy L. Tucker is the vice president and chief financial officer of the Flinn Foundation. She has extensive experience in foundation investments, grants administration, accounting, budgeting, internal controls and employee benefits. Tucker oversees the investment portfolio, annual financial statements and tax returns, legal matters, building operations, information technology and technical assistance to grantees at the Flinn Foundation.

David S. Van Denburgh is chairman and chief executive officer of American Fence Company, Inc. David is active in the Young Presidents Organization and served three terms as a Phoenix Economics Commissioner. He is a married father of six adult children and is an Arizona native. Van Denburgh is an avid skier and hiker and has traveled the world in that pursuit.

The Board of Trustees, comprised of community members who serve on a voluntary basis, governs the Barrow Neurological Foundation. The initial appointment is for one year, with reappointment for up to three consecutive three-year terms.
