Ray H. Rodey, III
Ray H. Rodey, III, 58, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on April 2, 2013. He endured a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.Although he had numerous surgeries, hospital stays and treatments he always believed he could overcome the devastating diagnosis.He was greatly appreciative of all of his doctors and nurses who cared for him and he became a popular and favorite patient at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn and St. Joseph's Hospital where he was treated.He was a talented swimmer in high school and a water polo player at Arizona State University. It was at ASU where he met the love of his life, Joy Savage.
Ray was employed at Nathan & Associates in Scottsdale since 1992. He referred to his co-workers as his other family; which is headed by longtime best friend, James "Nate" Nathan. Ray enjoyed spending time at "Camp Pupule" during the summer at Coronado Beach, Calif.Ray's greatest gift was his ability to make others feel important, special and loved. He was always positive and upbeat and was never afraid to give out a hug. He truly was a shining ray of light to all who knew him.Contributions made to this memorial fund will support brain tumor research and treatment at Barrow Neurological Institute.
