What are the Foundations of St. Joseph's?
There are two foundations that raise money for St. Joseph's Hospital: Barrow Neurological Foundation and St. Joseph's Foundation. They are not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that support the patient care, medical education, research and community outreach at our hospital. The Foundations fund programs that the hospital might otherwise not be able to afford, including care for those in need.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
Gifts to the foundations are tax-deductible as allowed by state and federal law. You can make a gift to Barrow Neurological Foundation or St. Joseph's Foundation.
How can I make a gift to the foundations?
You can make a one-time gift to the foundations or spread your gift out through payroll deduction. Make a donation online or sign up for payroll deduction.
How are contributions to the foundations allocated?
Each spring, the foundations accept requests for funding from departments throughout the hospital. After a careful review, the board of directors of each foundation makes funding allocations. In the current fiscal year, more than $14 million was transferred to programs at St. Joseph's and Barrow.
What kinds of programs and services are funded?
The foundations support programs and services in these main areas:
Start-up funding for new programs and services
New facilities and campus improvements
Care to the underserved
Medical education and academic appointments
