Bob and Renee Parsons
Bob and Renee Parsons are well-known for their entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic efforts.
Renee oversees The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. Bob is the Executive Chairman and Founder of GoDaddy. He is also the CEO and Founder of YAM World Wide, which is home to his entrepreneurial operations in the fields of power sports, golf, real estate, marketing, innovation and philanthropy.
Bob grew up in Baltimore. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and Purple Heart Medal.
A Michigan native, Renee is an accomplished businesswoman who began her career in hospitality sales. In 2009 she joined GoDaddy as their corporate events planner. In 2010 she took on the role of VP of Events & Community Outreach heading up GoDaddy Cares, the philanthropic arm for the corporation.
In December of 2013, less than two years after The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation was established, Bob and Renee reinforced their commitment to philanthropy by publicly accepting an invitation to join The Giving Pledge, an initiative started by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett.
The Parsons have made several major gifts to the Muhammad Ali Parksinson Center (MAPC) at Barrow over the the years. Most recently, The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation contributed $1 million to the MAPC to support two fellowships in Parkinson’s disease plus additional staffing for the Center and research in the Gait and Balance Laboratory. The foundation also made an additional $1 million gift to establish a medical center dedicated exclusively to researching and preventing falls.
