Karl and Stevie Eller
Karl and Stevie Eller’s latest contributions to Barrow Neurological Institute are the addition of 3D capability to the Goldman Auditorium and an upgrade to the Eller TelePresence video-conferencing system. Both projects are revolutionizing medical education.
In addition to their financial contributions, the Ellers helped raise funds for the Barrow Neuroscience Tower as part of the Pushing Boundaries Capital Campaign, a volunteer effort that raised $30 million for the project.
Stevie is a member of the Women’s Board, where she has served as board chairman and was Barrow Grand Ball co-chair in 1999 when the Ball raised $2 million for the institute.
Stevie says that being part of the Women’s Board has given her the opportunity to see patients who are helped at Barrow. “To see these people get well – you’ve got to know they’re in pretty capable hands,” she says. “Ultimately, we feel we give these people a second chance at life. I feel lucky to be part of it.”
The Ellers were recognized for their philanthropic work on behalf of Barrow as well as numerous other charitable organizations when they were named Philanthropists of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2004.
