The “Because of B” walk was an incredibly moving event honoring Brielle May’s courageous battle with FIRES Syndrome—a rare and severe epilepsy disorder—and celebrated the dedicated Neurocritical Care team at Barrow Neurological Institute whose expertise saved her life and continues her ongoing specialized care. Funds raised directly support the Neurocritical Care Program at Barrow Neurological Institute.
“We created the Because of B Walk to honor that strength, the kind that comes from love, prayer, and connection, and to shine a light on FIRES syndrome, the rare and challenging condition that changed Brielle’s life. It’s also our way of honoring our “team of angels” – the Barrow Neurocritical Care team, who fought for Brielle when her body couldn’t fight for itself. Every step, every message of support, every shirt worn, and every donation helps raise awareness, fund care, and remind families walking a similar road that they’re not alone.” – Brielle’s Mom
