Originally from Canada, Margot moved to Phoenix with her husband Dennis in 1980. Together, they founded Communities Southwest, and developed that business into a prominent and successful land and real estate development company.
Margot has been an active community volunteer since moving to Arizona. She was President of the Phoenix Art Museum League from 1991-92 and chaired many of its fundraisers, including the Festival of Trees and the Estate Sale. Margot served as an active member of the Phoenix Art Museum Board from 2004-2010 and again from 2016-2019, serving on and chairing many committees.
Margot has been active in fund-raising activities for a number of other organizations, including co-chairing the Arizona Science Center Gala in 2004, the Phoenix Art Museum pARTy in 2008, and the HonorHealth Honor Ball 2014. She is currently on the Women’s Board of The Sandra Day O’Connor Institute and ASU’s Women in Philanthropy.
