Debilitating headache pain put Alison's life on hold. But at the Lewis Headache Center at Barrow Neurological Institute, Kerry Knievel, DO, and her team pursued a multidisciplinary plan that gave Alison a future to look forward to.

#ItMatters where you get your care. It Matters that teams like Dr. Knievel's have the resources available to never give up on their patients. Your support makes this possible.

Sabrina's story is a powerful testament to the difference expert care at Barrow can make. You won't want to miss it! With your support, the talented staff at Barrow can create more stories like hers. Read it at bar.rw/sabrina (Link in bio).

👉 Repost @BarrowNeuro - After feeling a "pop" in her back and sudden heaviness in her legs, Sabrina Mancini spent the next eight years seeking an accurate diagnosis as her neurological symptoms worsened.

Finally, she learned she had a rare blood vessel abnormality in her spinal cord that would be risky to treat—but even riskier to leave alone.

After requesting an online second opinion from Barrow President and CEO and vascular neurosurgeon michael_t_lawton, MD, Sabrina traveled more than 2,000 miles from Middlebury, Connecticut to Phoenix, Arizona to undergo surgery for her spinal cord cavernous malformation.

"It was the best decision I ever made," she said.

Have you signed up for the Arizona Cardinals Climb yet? Rally your friends, family, and co-workers and help raise funds for the #SpecialNeeds community! ➡️ bar.rw/6537. Link in bio!

✨ This event is more than a fundraiser - it is a movement to champion inclusion, elevate care, and create lasting change in the community to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arizona #CardinalsClimb is a fun way to make a meaningful impact at Barrow Neurological Institute! We can't wait to see you there.
We were honored to join AZ Family News to highlight our partnership with the Arizona Cardinals Foundation as a cornerstone beneficiary. This collaboration underscores how philanthropic support is a crucial component to bridge the gap in neurologic healthcare for young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) as they transition into adult-care programs.

The Arizona Cardinals Foundation's support is critical in making our vision a reality:

"Our vision is to develop a comprehensive neurological healthcare program that will improve the lifespan and health span of our patients living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as create a model that can be replicated nationally and internationally, thus improving the care of people worldwide." — Brad A. Racette, MD, FAAN, Senior Vice President of Neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute.

We couldn't be more grateful to partner with the Arizona Cardinals Foundation on this impactful initiative.
The holidays amplify the hustle and bustle of life, with shopping, parties, and visits to family and friends. But for those with neurological disorders, they can underscore the silent struggles of trying to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced world. In these moments, It Matters where you get your care.

This holiday season, your gift to Barrow will help our specialists continue pushing boundaries to diagnose and treat the most complex conditions, transforming the lives of countless patients. Your Support Matters! Give today at the link in our bio. 🔗 https://bar.rw/3KQ8TN1
