Barrow Sleep Center
Support groundbreaking research that explores how sleep disorders contribute to neurological conditions.
Donate to Sleep Disorder Care and Research
Sleep is a basic human need, yet millions of people live with sleep disorders that significantly impact their daily lives and long-term well-being. Left undiagnosed or untreated, sleep disorders can significantly elevate the risk of stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease.
Supporting the Barrow Sleep Center will help fill a critical gap in care—advancing early diagnosis, prevention, and research on sleep disorders to improve brain health.

You Contribute to Better Brain Health
Like diet and exercise, sleep is a modifiable risk factor for neurological conditions, meaning an individual can lower their risk through lifestyle changes and medical intervention.
Led by Joyce K. Lee-Iannotti, MD, FAAN, FAASM, the Barrow Sleep Center is dedicated to mitigating the impact of sleep disorders by identifying, treating, and understanding the conditions that affect sleep and everyday functioning. The team treats complex sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome. In fact, Barrow was certified as a Restless Legs Syndrome Quality Care Center by the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation—the only one in Arizona.
When you support the Barrow Sleep Center, you are investing in innovation, education, and patient-centered care that lays a critical cornerstone for better brain health and a better life.
You Fuel Life-Changing Sleep Research
For over two decades, research has identified communities where people live longer,
healthier lives due to shared environmental, lifestyle, and social factors. Yet, one
essential pillar of longevity remains underexplored: sleep.
Barrow will conduct a first-of-its-kind study focused on extending healthy lifespan and
brain vitality. Dr. Lee-Iannotti and her team will use cutting-edge methods to develop a
Sleep Score that captures the beneficial and harmful environmental influences on sleep
and healthy neurologic aging. This includes exposomics (chemical and light exposure,
social behaviors, diet, exercise, etc.), multimodal sleep assessments, and biomarkers of
aging. Moving beyond traditional sleep medicine, the study aims to generate the first
real-world dataset linking the exposome, sleep quality, and healthy neurologic aging.
