🧠 Did you know that #neurology is one of the most pivotal medical fields because it focuses on the 'command center' that controls every bodily function, from movement and thought to sensation and organ regulation? This field is a lifeline for millions who suffer from neurological conditions and a driving force in medical research and innovation. Without it, the ability to diagnose, treat, and understand brain, spine, and nerve-related diseases would be severely limited.

With your support, Barrow Neurological Institute has made strides in the field of neurology, reaching patients far and wide. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Barrow today!. Link in bio.

Led by Francisco Ponce, MD, the Center for Neuromodulation is treating patients with previously untreatable conditions by correcting abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Deep brain stimulation (DBS), which uses electrical stimulation to correct these rhythms, is a promising type of neuromodulation and an effective intervention for Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and epilepsy. In addition to being a world leader in DBS surgery, the Center for Neuromodulation is also a pioneer in focused ultrasound technology and brain-computer interface (BCI) technology.

Jimmy Walker has spent the past six decades working with some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports, including Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, Reba McEntire, Michael Jordan, Reggie Jackson, and The Greatest himself, Muhammad Ali. But through it all, he was silently battling a neurological condition that left him feeling like he couldn’t control his movements. He was diagnosed with essential tremor - a progressive movement disorder that causes uncontrollable shaking in the hands. But fate led him to Barrow, and everything changed.
