We were honored to join AZ Family News to highlight our partnership with the Arizona Cardinals Foundation as a cornerstone beneficiary. This collaboration underscores how philanthropic support is a crucial component to bridge the gap in neurologic healthcare for young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) as they transition into adult-care programs.

👏 It was great to see philanthropic support for research at Barrow Neurological Institute and science education in Arizona come together in the Dorrance Dome—an 8K+ resolution LED planetarium at the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, AZ. Congratulations to researcher Brittany Kzyzanowski, PhD, and artist Kendra Solars for a truly illuminating ARx project, highlighting the relationship between environmental #neurotoxins and #Parkinson`s disease!

Thank you to everyone who visited the art exhibit at Creighton University! We were honored to showcase the incredible talent and resilience of individuals with Parkinson`s disease and their care partners. 🎨

Many of the pieces showcased were created through the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center`s Expressive Arts Program, which uses art as a therapeutic tool to reduce stress and support well-being. Thank you, once again, to all who joined us and to all who support this program at Barrow!

David participated in the Summer Undergraduate Internship Program at Barrow Neurological Institute in the Spinal Biomechanics Lab under the mentorship of Brian Kelly, PhD. Go behind the scenes at Barrow with undergraduate intern, Samantha Mack! Samantha, a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art, participated in the Summer Undergraduate Internship Program at Barrow Neurological Institute. This summer, she worked under the mentorship of Virginia Prendergast, PhD, in the Neuroscience Nursing Department. She created educational materials to guide post-operative patients through their journey.

#InternSpotlight! Meet Ruby, a participant in the Summer Undergraduate Internship Program at Barrow Neurological Institute and a student at @arizonastateuniversity! This summer, Ruby studied in the Virtual Reality (VR) Spine Laboratory under the mentorship of Ryan Ehredt, MS, where she developed a color alert system and a VR headset for pedicle screw simulation. Training tools like this help neurosurgeons map out the safest way to navigate around the spine before entering the operating room. Watch this video to see her project in action!
