In honor of #MigraineAwarenessWeek, we’d like to shine a spotlight on Jennifer Robblee, MD, MSc, FRCPC, FAHS, a headache neurologist in the #LewisHeadacheCenter at @BarrowNeuro.
Her research focuses on improving care for patients with disabling headache and facial pain disorders, with primary emphasis on status migrainosus and refractory migraine. Dr. Robblee has recently contributed to several significant research advancements, including:
🧠Utilizing MRI to analyze and compare brain changes during status migrainosus, a severe migraine attack that lasts for over three days and often does not respond to medication.
👥Leading an international panel of experts in defining refractory migraine, aiming to improve recognition of patients whose migraine does not respond to preventive standard treatment. This is the first time an international consensus has ever been reached.
💉A collaboration with the @UCalgary completed a systematic review and guideline update reporting that intravenous prochlorperazine and greater occipital nerve blocks are a first-line therapy for patients presenting with migraine in the emergency department (ED). This study updated the American Headache Society’s 2016 guidelines for migraine treatment in the ED.

🧠Hiroki Kobayashi, MD, PhD, is conducting a study on a potential new non-surgical target for preventing aneurysm rupture.
🧠Hirotaka Sato, MD, PhD, is investigating an age-related blood condition linked to aneurysm rupture risk.

Barrow is home to 151 Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurses (CNRNs), more than any other hospital in the world. A driving force behind this culture of #NursingExcellence was Linda Hunt.
Even if you didn’t know Linda personally, it’s likely that you or a loved one has received care within a system shaped by her leadership. She rose from bedside nurse to the President and CEO of Dignity Health’s Southwest Market but always remained a nurse at heart—prioritizing patients and their families.
Linda cemented her legacy with an estate gift to the Barrow Neurological Foundation, empowering nurses to lead, innovate, and pursue the #AdvancedResearch and #Edcucation that define world-class care.
