“I can’t express enough gratitude to donors who support the Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Program at @BarrowNeuro…thank you, because you make a real difference.” – Marwan Sabbagh, MD, FAAN, Moreno Family Chair for Alzheimer's Research and Applied Alzheimer’s Research Laboratory Director

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating Bill Daggett, a father, husband, sculptor, and Parkinson’s warrior.

When Parkinson’s disease threatened to rob Bill of his ability to sculpt, Holly Shill, MD, FAAN, director of the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at @BarrowNeuro, referred him to neurosurgeon Francisco Ponce, MD. Bill underwent deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery with Dr. Ponce. Now, not only can Bill sculpt again, but he also has his smile, laugh, and voice back.

“I have hope now. Not just for myself, but for my children, grandchildren, and everyone else who may one day receive a Parkinson’s diagnosis.” - Bill Daggett

Repost @commonspiritphilanthropy // Today, we honor Juneteenth—a day of reflection, remembrance, and celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and serves as an opportunity to recognize the ongoing pursuit of equity, justice, and opportunity for all.

As we reflect on this important day, we celebrate the strength, contributions, and rich history of Black communities while reaffirming our commitment to building more inclusive, compassionate, and equitable communities.

"The Memory Cafe has been my lifeline for six years now... Because of the group at Memory Cafe, I have been able to navigate the changes and challenges much better than I’d have on my own!" - Grateful Barrow Care Partner

This testimonial perfectly highlights the care mission at the Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Program at @barrowneuro. We believe no one should have to navigate a #dementia diagnosis alone.

Last year, thanks to supporters like you, our life-changing work extended beyond medical treatment, offering wraparound care to over 1,500 individuals through 130 outreach and support events. This June, in recognition of #AlzheimersAndBrainHealthAwarenessMonth, make a gift to help ensure patients and caregivers receive the resources and community they need. Repost @theivybraintumorcenter // Thank you to the Arizona @dbacks for another unforgettable Brain Tumor Awareness Night at Chase Field and for their generous gift to the Ivy Brain Tumor Center at @barrowneuro. We're deeply grateful to the Dbacks, the Nicole Hazen Fund for Hope, and the Women's Board of @supportbarrow for their combined donation of $200,000 to advance brain tumor research at the Ivy Center.

The evening was also about honoring the brain tumor community, like patients Tim Soukup and Joshua Zahn—both of whom were treated for brain tumors by Ivy Center Director Nader Sanai, MD. Tim threw out the ceremonial first pitch, while Josh and his family joined in holding signs to spell out the Ivy Center's mission of "Discovering Tomorrow's Treatments Today."

We'd also like to thank everyone who showed up to join our "gray-out" section, reminding the public to "Go Gray for May" in honor of brain tumor awareness.

Together, we're covering all the bases to find new treatments for even the toughest brain tumors.
The Rick Oehme Foundation is matching donations to the Ivy Brain Tumor Center up to $100,000 this May in honor of #BrainTumorAwarenessMonth! 💚 Your support fuels critical research and offers hope to those battling brain cancer. Donate today, and your gift will go twice as far. Link in bio! ⬆️ https://giveto.supportbarrow.org/donation-pages/btam-fb.
